First sunset in two weeks has come, not that you would notice it without looking calender. This week turned insane as weather changed. No rain really after last Saturday.
So it has been silage making. And reindeer marking. Well it was rain on Saturday afternoon and then forecast said nice weather until Monday evening. So after rain I cut down two fields and Sunday morning one more as it looked dry and nice until Tuesday morning.
High stakes high prizes. So starting Sunday afternoon I baled and wrapped silage. Plan was to have decent sleep and continue on Monday. Suddenly the forecast turned and said that might be heavy rain on night. So continued working until 4 am on Monday to get two fields done as they would shit if rain got them. And rain never really came, yet job was done. Some problems during night with machines as always.
Monday I finished last field after 4 hours sleep. Tuesday morning was rain so I collected bales from field. And after rain back on cutting. Evening we had reindeer marking, so and some rain, enough to stop cutting grass yet not destroying work. I jumped for reindeer marking to find out that some reinderr had escsped so we had to do second run, which was success and during night we marked 350 reindeer calves.
Back home 7 am on Wednesday morning and finishing cutting grass from field which I had to leave beacause rain. Then few hours sleep and baling. And then catastrophic moments started to gather. I said to my friend that this silage making is nice and stress-free as machines works and weather is decent. After baling and heading home... tractor's front tyre went flat. And farm is 3 km away.
Two urgent issues to solve. How to get tyre fixed and how to get bales wrapped. Luckily with one phone call I got help from friend to wrapping and few calls also someone to come get tyre and fixed. Tyre fixing took more hours than I was hoping yet it was done and went to farm and I took the mower and cut more material for Thursday.
I asked the friend if he could come on Thursday to wrap so we would get those fields finished easier as I just bale and he wraps. He agreed and Thursday we got those easily done, plan was that I would cut more in the evening yet forecast said some rain so I made decision to stop working 8 pm and was even home just after 9 pm. Little longer sleep this night.
Now I have catch up yesterday's laziness and go cut hay. If everything goes well I'm done with silage making no later than Sunday. Then just to have collect bales from field.
Fishing? It looks good as closest I have got is photos from our German guests. They have got some nice graylings and trouts, and they seems to be happy about fishing. Maybe next week I will turn also.
Have a nice weekend and go fishing
