Sunday we had picnic day with Satu. Short afternoon out, we had masseur on Saturday, so just little hanging and some time together. Water levels were high everywhere after rain whole week. So Satu decided to concentrate for mushroom picking and I fished.
I selected place which I thought would be good for mushrooms and interesting for fishing also. I haven't fish that spot for few years, it can hold big graylings as it has some deep spots and river is quite wide. It is better in early season yet can give surprises late August. We had picnic, Satu found some mushrooms and I caught some graylings. As you see nothing special on that trip.
Monday I had casting lesson with Paul. It has been way too long without one. It is not only about casting yet also about some nice chat. I got place ready and had little warming up before we started. It was intensive casting session for me.
It is interesting how I have most of things on computer. Many times when Paul mentioned something my brains found it allready from files also. And at same time I was wondering why I haven't use that information. I think one reason is that I haven't been practising as much I should, so information has been buried down under.
Of course I use some of that when fishing yet it is not the same than truly training. So there are four things now which I need to put in for distance
casting. And in my opinion, (which does not really count), I do have them already. Problem is that they won't appear in same cast always. So when I do one or two things perfectly others are more or less there or not at all. And result is what it is. During session I did few good casts and there were there together. But I still force things too much, it is not relaxed. And that's where things change.
So I got some homework to do. I have done few really short sessions during week, just do do small things at time. Most of time I have been trying to catch up some work which has not been done even Satu has mentioned those since May more or less. I don't know what I have been doing during summer as she said: “finally you did those even you had whole summer time to do it.” These undone works were shitting board in hen house and fix the hatch and some fixing for dogs' garden.
Thursday I spent whole day to maintain and storing baler and wrapper. Silage is done and those machine can rest over winter until next summer.
Back to my fly fishing , so after lesson with Paul and my own short ones, I realized that my casting technique is so secret that even I don't know what the hell I'm doing and same goes for my fishing techniques.
Now I need to run as guests are waiting to learn this secret fishing technique.
