Last Saturday with heavy rain and wind our lake opened again. I had great plan to go fishing on Sunday but weather didn't agree with me. Well you could also say that I was too slow. I missed the window either on river or at lake, as there was nice sunshine and not bad wind for about 2 hours period.
Then it rolled over, temperature dropped, rain started again. Original forecast was that it could get close +10celsius in end of week and some sun. I had high hopes for Friday as I would go guiding one more time.
Sunday when I went to sleep it was raining still. I knew that Monday we start reindeer work and I was ready for that. Monday morning when I woke just before 7am we had 5 cm snow in ground and - 6 celsius. Well doesn't matter as weather will warm up on Wednesday and on Thursday warm and rain... no problem.
Monday evening we had stunning northern lights and on Tuesday when woke up after 6am, it was cleat sky with - 9celsius. Reindeer work still in progress.
I still had faith about weather to change. Wednesday I realize that yes it will change but not enough, and especially when Thursday morning we had even more snow on the ground, I had to surrender. During the day it started to rain but temperature was just barely plus celsius so nothing really happened.
I will show spots on river to guests today as it is still raining and only +2 celsius. Then Saturday they can go by themselves as it should be sun and +5 celsius. I can't go as reindeer work starts in our area and I really have to be there. I could decide not to go but that's not how you get longer term help from society.
So winter caught us, I hope that lake will get strong ice cover fast as I would like to take our "daughter" from Belgium fishing as she arrives tomorrow for two week period. She was once trainee at the farm and now we consider her as part of family.
