Our vacation tour in northern Sweden continues, or middle of Sweden might be more correct. It’s just that everything north of Stockholm feels like northern Sweden for us. It has been eventful and the second week a bit more so I would say.
This week we are back in the cabin we rented last year in Särna. I like the cottage better than the container we stayed in last week. The container had the advantage though that it was located at the end of a field that could be used for distance practice. Even if the lean and other forms of the field made you fall and feel seasick it was available. Distance practice this week has been less and a bit more interesting. It has consisted of stopping at available fields I’ve found when we have visited the village center for supplies. So one session took place in the middle of a camping site. Decent lawn so I took the chance while Minna did hide to not die because of embarrassment. She had to come out of hiding to help me get some pictures, staged, or my practice.
Other things that has happened this week is taking very cold swims in waterfalls. There is something to flowing water and even more to waterfalls. You feel that this is a source of life. The streams look very inviting for a swim but are kind of cold.
And I’ve learned how dangerous a cooking oil fire is. I made a bit too good of a fire before putting the muurikka on the fire so the cooking oil did catch fire. Multiple times. That was scary in hindsight and I did some very stupid things. Like taking a long branch to smack a burning potato out of the burning oil. It looked spectacular! I’m just very lucky to not gotten splashed with the burning inferno of burning oil mist.
The dog has learned to eat blueberries. That looks very cute when she stands in the bushes and grazes blueberries. She has also found out that it is much better to just grab blueberries when the humans picks them.
Ronja really likes to run a round in the forest here. Maybe a bit too much as she runs so fast among the rocks and bushes that she stumbles and tumbles. But that doesn’t bother her. She is tough as nails and just keeps running.
So that are my days these weeks. Offline, off grid and just wonderful. Sleeping, hiking, cooking food and some fishing.
I’m very happy to see the interest in the team coach that the Swedish federation has hired now! I’ll comeback to that topic in the future. Now I have to take a walk to find a spot where I have cellular coverage so I can get this FP sent to Paul.
Cheers, Rickard
