Almost forgot!

Almost forgot!

I almost forgot to write a FP for today. It’s been a crazy week and a crazy day. The day started quite good with some casting practice and on my way home that did change drastically. Outside the street door to my apartment building I did see a cat that didn’t look very well. Not well at all. It was just lying there very still and looking like it was gasping for air. So I felt that I needed to do something.

I went home to leave my equipment and get help from Minna. We are fortunate enough to live within walking distance of a veterinarian. They don’t have capacity for emergencies but we could get help to read the id chip of the cat. From there we could find the owner. That’s not the easiest thing to do, but possible. Then get in contact with the owner that thought it was a bit suspicious that we called and asked about a cat as the cat was supposed to be indoors. Apparently the cat has been able to get out via a small opening in a window and fall about four floors. The owner was able to get home kind of quickly but had no possibility to get hold of her partner who had the car so I did drive her and the cat to the emergency veterinary clinic. Where I ended up staying and supporting them until the cat was brought in for observation.

Yesterday I had a Zoom session with a CI candidate that I’m helping prepare for the assessment. The casting looks good and the knowledge is there. The notes look more structured than mine going into my assessment. But I recognise the state the candidate is in now. Starting to get nervous, starting to question everything. But we could find some fixes for some errors. Like one thing I hadn’t thought about. Crossbody casting. If you turn to look at the back cast it becomes hard to cast well. Like really turn the body. I have never casted crossbody like that so I had to go out and test it by myself. I just turn the head a little the few times I have watched the back cast look here, just catching it in the corner of the eye.

Hopefully I will remember the FP and start to write it in better time than just right before bed.

Cheers, Rickard
