Winter has really hit us. After last week heavy snow, temperature dropped easily down zero. It was -27 celsius in coldest day, it is about -17 fahrenheit. So you can understand that there is not much fishing now. Lakes are covered with ice and next week ice fishing guiding season will start. I just hope it will warm up just a little bit.
Days are short and there are still lot of things to do. Our winter season with reindeer sleigh rides have been started and it has been blast so far. Our reindeer are amazing partners and even there is not so much snow that we would need, they still do their work as pro. Well they are trained and we do have best reindeers around for sleigh rides.
Season started with Spanish guests and we had people from Germany, USA, France and England. So for us this is back to normal so far. Next charters are coming tomorrow and this should be going all to way until mid March. I just hope that nobody fuck up this winter. I have been checking flights again, hopefully able to book in the beginning of next month.
Our USA guests were interesting, kind of. Lady’s family is originally from this area and she was looking some information about her relatives. Satu’s grandmother (or grandgrand) had same family name and they probably are relatives. These guests made some extra work for me, since they droved their car to ditch and I had to pulled it out from there. Unfortunally tractor was 50 km from farm to get maintance and our four-wheel van was in the city with flat tyre. Saturday I had flat tyre when going to help my friend and I had to get very slowly back to garage, which I just could do. On Sunday they changed all the tyres and then I could get our guests out from ditch.
Interesting part for me about these guests were and is…… They were from Utah. They have house 30 yards from river and they have big guest floor to use. Satu told me back in home that husband is flyfisherman and they invited us to Utah, and we can use guest floor. So now we have one more destination in our bucket list to do on coming years.
First we have to handle Malaysia, then Italy and after that it could be Utah and France. There is so many places to fish and so little time. I have learned during the years that besides fishing it is always good make friends. Those are much nicer to have than enemies, even you will have those also. During the past ten years we have got invitations to all over the world. Now it is time to start visit those great lads and ladies. We are not getting younger even cold weather preserve everything and keeps me young.
It is time to enjoy life, travel and fish, meet friends and have a good time.
Go fishing and have a nice weekend
