Another low key Sexyloops promotion! You’re probably thinking “where are all the shining testimonials, Paul? If you want to promote Zoom flycasting lessons, then testimonials are the best method!” I know, I know, but places are extremely limited since I’m currently doing ALL the coaching. What I haven’t decided is whether, or when and how, to expand the base of coaches.
A few months ago one of my students said I was “too cheap” and he would only take 10 lessons instead of the 12 he originally paid for and then rebook!! But I like 12 lessons. As kids we learned the 12 times table, or at least I did. Originally it was priced as ten lessons plus two for free, but I’ve realised that 12 is just so much better than ten, possibly because I’ve ended up structuring my Intermediates courses around this number. And besides I’ve been doing it this way for four years now.
A course of 12 x one hour lessons with me is 800USD. It’s done at your pace. Normally I recommend meeting every two weeks at first, but you really need to train between meets. Usually between 5 and 10 hrs. Sometimes winter gets in the way, life, fishing, and so on — and consequently there is no fixed timeline on this. It’s most common that 12 sessions takes 9-12 months. If it takes longer then fishing is your best excuse.
Briefly we do this, in different orders:
1 Accuracy, Open Stance Distance, Double Hauling
2 Roll Cast both shoulders. Three Stops - hard, pull-back, stopless.
3 Backcast deliveries.
5 Jump Roll and Spey family
6 170
7 Presentation Casts. Curve over/under powered, both sides. Tuck. Collapsed. Fly First (Torque Twist).
8 Rod Planes/ Loop Planes
9 Wind - Rod planes, Trajectories
10 Line Management
11 Presentation Mends. Reach, Curve, Hump, Wiggle.
12 Saltwater shots, heavy flies, slipped lift.
But it should be noted that it’s an individually tailored programme, and layered — by which I mean Accuracy and Distance will be looked at in almost every lesson, and as we build we continually strengthen and broaden your core foundations.. I keep notes on the progress of every student and shape and structure accordingly. And of course if your preference is Saltwater shots, then this is going to be different to stream fishing focus.
You need mobile internet connection for Zoom. A phone or iPad. A tripod to position the phone/machine at around waist height. Bluetooth headset so we can talk away from camera. 4 accuracy hoops (around 60cm or 2 feet diameter). A 50m /150’ tape measure. All lessons are recorded for download afterwards, which means we can cover much more than in a non-recorded lesson.
