In my opinion AI is total bollocks!!! Anyone who has tried to navigate the complete incompetence of AI virtual “assistants” will know what I’m talking about. It is so incredibly frustrating. Is this really the future that everyone wants? We can’t talk to a real person now, but instead a completely useless AI bot? Who is that helping exactly? It’s certainly not helping me – the customer.
Vast amounts of money are being spent on this display of incompetence. Why not instead invest this money in real people? In society, health and education. Jobs are being taken away from people, who were actually quite capable at doing this work, and instead being given to annoyingly stupid systems that don’t work!!
It’s just another example of a world that has gone nuts! Furthermore, ultimately it’s going to make poor people poorer and rich people richer. It’s not the Utopian future where the State will feed, clothe and house everyone, look after medical bills and allow humans to lead luxurious lives of free time spent fly fishing, painting and discussing poetry. No. There will just be a hell lot of a lot of unemployed people talking to AI bots trying to get customer service but not being able.
Look at these examples, when I ask AI:
Does the anchor load the rod in a roll cast?
“Yes, the anchor loads the rod in a roll cast, but not through tension alone. The anchor (line in contact with the water) creates the necessary resistance for the rod to bend (load) as you accelerate forward, with the D-loop behind you providing the weight that is actually propelled forward to create the cast.”
How does flycasting work?
“Fly casting works by using the weight of the fly line—rather than the weight of the fly—to "load" (bend) the rod, which then acts as a spring to propel the line when it straightens.”
Does double hauling work by increasing rod loading?
“Yes, double hauling works primarily by increasing rod loading, which in turn generates higher line speed. By using the non-casting hand to pull the fly line down during both the backcast and forward cast, the angler puts more tension on the rod, causing it to bend deeper and store more energy.”
Now all of those answers are fundamentally wrong of course and all hinge around the idea of rod loading and the rod being a big spring. You can find this wrong information on the Internet, as AI has done. But we know that this is incorrect. AI hasn’t worked through the physics, as we have, but instead has just regurgitated crap.
And that is what the future will be like. Virtual Assistants that frustrate rather than assist, and an Internet where misinformation is supplied by erroneous AI nonsense.
I personally would much rather communicate with a real person. And I want real people to have jobs. You don’t create a stable world where you have a few extremely rich people and a lot of very poor people. That’s a recipe for war. It always has been.
When I get stuck in the frustrating Virtual Assistant spiral of death, with no possibility to ever talk to a real person, then I never do business with that organisation again. I hope you do likewise. Screw them for wasting my life! Instead of solving a problem, that they often created in the first place, they send me into an AI mindfuck where I don’t appear to know my own language.
Incidentally at Sexyloops, I am customer service. I’m not a bot. You can WhatsApp me +60198549552 It’s free and you’ll get a prompt reply. That’s how customer service should be done! It’s what I expect at an absolute minimum nowadays. But don’t call me; send a text! I don’t answer calls unless you are my wife or my mother. Everyone else has simply sat on their phone (and sometimes they have too).
Hungary
As most of you will know there is an important election in Hungary and it’s a place where I have a home. These elections are more important for European security than any recent EU election. I hope very much that Tisza/Magyar wins and with the 2/3rds majority needed. Then I can breathe a little easier.
But the UK needs to rejoin the EU. I know it’s like opening old wounds but it’s very important.
Update: Really great news from Hungary!!!
Here in Malaysia we are going through a heatwave. Every day is 39/40C in the boat. How do I survive? I wear underpants. And at other times I just let it all hang out.
Have a great week!
I’m going for a swim. Then I have a Malay class. And then I’m going fishing. Maybe this is Utopia?
Cheers, Paul
PS. Here is an excellent article from Daniel on Spring, Swing and Whip. Possibly also a little bit of a mindfuck too, I understand that, but you can clearly see that flycasting is not simply about "loading and unloading" a big spring. And here is a video from me on the casting implications of understanding this.
