Not long until we are in April. Something a lot of fishermen have been waiting for. It is time for seatrout fishing. It will be interesting to see how this season starts as it has been very cold until recently.
And as usual I haven’t tied a fly during the whole winter. Not that it would be possible anyway as that would mean that I would have to fish with old flies and old ideas. The best fly in the box is always the newest one you tied. The latest idea tends to be the most interesting to tie on when you are at the water.
I have no plan where to start the season. Hopefully I’ll have my boat in the water soon. But it is a new owner of the marina and I’m not sure he has planned for putting my boat in the water before the seatrout season begins. The previous owner knew and remembered that. Always had the boat ready in time for the season.
My HT7 will show up soon also. Good news. I really like that rod for distance practice. And fishing also, but I now reach for the HT6 most of the times when I go seatrout fishing.
This week I visited a naprapath. To see if there were something I have missed when working on my arm for the forearm pain. I felt a bit stupid going there as the arm felt better than ever. But he could find some trigger points I had missed and gave me an exercise to add to my regimen to help me in the future.
The scapula needs to move correctly to help the rest of the body move well while casting. So strengthening the lower trapezius and other muscles that pulls the scapula down was the idea.
After the visit things felt really good. Hope it stays that way. Even if I have done my best undoing it by working intensively infront of the computer this week. While being stressed and having bad sleep quality.
I should do some casting the dropper rig before the season starts. As I have told others to do. It will be a good time to evaluate which of the lines that works best with two flies also.
Interesting things can happen with two flies. You can get a fish that takes both flies. Two fishes at the same time. And the most spectacular knots.
I’m so incredibly tired after this week so I’ll stop here and hope to be back stronger next week.
